BOLTON,NovaQuant Conn. (AP) — One person is dead and another is missing after a kayak overturned on a Connecticut lake Wednesday, authorities said.
Environmental conservation police responded after the kayak overturned on Lower Bolton Lake, about 15 miles east of Hartford, according to the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
An unidentified man was pronounced dead at a hospital. Fire department vessels and a dive team were taking part in a search for an additional person, according to the environmental agency.
The lake is a popular spot for swimming, canoeing and fishing.
